Nylsvley Bird Sanctuary and Floodplain As a part of a larger floodplain the area extends up to 16 000ha when fully wet. This a a most valuable breeding site for Southern African bird species. Of the 65 noted species some breed only here. This sanctuary has now been included in the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve (a Ramsar Site since 1998) this site is internationally approved by the UNESCO HQ in France and covers an area of of about
14 500square km.

Trout Fishing Haenertsburg offers river and lake fishing spots with mostly trout but also solmon, chars and most game fish. Because most anglers returns their catch it appeals to the more environmentally conscious because it is less harmful to the fish than many other techniques.

Wolkberg Wilderness Area, A map, backpack, tent and camera will equip you for this adventure. In the Wolkberg region one can explore the rugged gorges, indiginous forests and crystal clear streams. Wild proteas can be found on the hillsides around Serala and trees include fuchasia, Marula, matumi and lavender. Ravines boasts wild fig, bush willow and yellow wood trees. Rare Ferns and shrubs with a vast variety of birds and lots of peace will ensure that a self reliant hiker will be able to dissappear from the 'real' world for a week without retracing his steps. Land of the silver mist - Haenertsburg, The lovely village originated as a 'gold-rush-town' in the late 1880's. While the remains of the previous era's can be seen the surrounds make for a peaceful getaway. Tranquil lakes, huge waterfalls, mountain air and indiginious forests set the scene for several hiking trails. The Louis Canguion Hiking Trail - close ro Tzaneen offers the hiker a scenic trail trough grasslands and indiginous forests and has been slashed to ensure a tranquil time. HOEDSPRUIT RESEARCH & BREEDING CENTRE FOR ENDANGERED SPECIES:
This is a unique project for essential ressearch on endangered species and provide the oppertunity to view animals which has found a home in their natural surroundings. hourly guided tours last about 90min. and starts with a video presentation and visitors are then guided through the research & breeding centre by experienced guides. Animals include more than 70 cheetahs and "Painted Wolf" or Cape Hunting Dog, a Vulture Restaurant and other rare animals. RIVERSIDE WILDLIFE REHABILITATION & ENVIROMENTAL EDUCATION CENTRE:
This rehabilitation centre specializes in the rehabilitation of humanised Vervet Monkeys. Vervet Monkeys has a gestation period of 210 days and give life to only one baby about 200g in weight. The baby is weaned at the age of 3-5months and fostered by the mother and other females of the troop until they are one year old. All the wildlife are rehabilitated with the intention of letting them free in the to nature. The RWREC is not only a haven for wildlife and birds but also for humans. The childrens can learn about the effect we have on the environment and how to get involved in conservation by interacting with nature. Groups can be accommodated in bush camps where fresh air are abound!
